HOW TO COAT YOUR UTE TRAY for the ultimate protection from the elements!

Here in Australia it's not just the elements that are harsh! The work is hard, the equipment and tools are heavy, and your ute tray takes a beating! So, we highly recommend you line your tray to protect your vehicle.

Note - ensure that you are wearing the correct PPE in a well ventilated environment before you begin.
Here’s how to do it:
- Degrease and clean the surface to paint. We recommend you use the Recosol Degreaser and our Colad bottles for this.
- Sand the surface - go for the Venom Disc P180-P240
- For hard to reach areas, sand down with Scotchbrite.
- Mask vehicle and edges, and give the area a final cleaning. This combination of Fineline Tape, Masking Tape, and Brown Paper work best together.
- Treat any galvanised or aluminium area with Etch Primer
- Pour contents of the hardener bottle/can directly into the Robliner can and shake for 2 minutes to guarantee thorough mixing.
- Spray with the RB1 gun, 3-4 coats works well.
- The longer the flash off time, the better texture and finish is achieved. Flash off time is the time you wait between coats. This textured appearance is easy to personalise.
- Once dry, remove tape and masking. The best wait time will be 24-36 hours then you're good to go!
