The True Value of Sponsoring Community Sport

Date: 25-08-2021

Rugby League as a sport has certainly been growing in popularity  throughout Queensland, and especially in the regional communities such as Sarina, Queensland. As part of our ongoing support of healthy lifestyles and healthy families, we proudly sponsored the Sarina Rugby League Football Club for a second year in a row, and have the pleasure of being part of this great organisation.

Over the last 6 years, Sarina Crocs have seen some major improvements in both the club facility offerings and membership growth to around 140 registered senior players. Some fantastic improvements include: toilet upgrades, canteen and bar facilities, overall maintenance, as well as the all-important shade stands construction. This has also allowed the club to offer other sporting or community organisations a venue for hosting different events throughout the year, bringing in greater involvement for Sarina’s locals and visitors.

Club representative Ros Goode was kind enough to share some insight into the benefits for the club through sponsorships such as these, as well as a greater positive outcome for the greater Sarina community.

Ros explained that sponsorship support has allowed Sarina Crocs to grow and develop as a club, not just in running costs and upgrades, but another strong benefit has been to the entire Sarina community. As the Crocs management aim to increase the culture of rugby being a mainstay in the community, one significant benefit she’s noticed has been that the games and events held at the club draw the crowds.

Ros says “It’s a day out together with family. Not just players, or young ones, but extended families, grandparents, friends. They all enjoy a day out together as a family, taking part and staying involved. They're away from screens, interacting, and enjoying live sport together. It’s been one of the greatest things to see.”

Sarina Crocs’ teams are Under 20s Men, Reserve Grade Mens, Women’s A-Grade, and Men’s A-grade, with all ages being catered to in the juniors. This year the club is excited to announce that 3 of their 4 seniors teams have made the finals this week and are looking to continue on to the grand finals to end the season with a bang!
